So I went to the park this morning before my tee time and searched the play ground and didn't find much. As I was walking back to my truck I was still going to detect all the way back to it and I got a hit I dug it up thinking it was going to be another can or freaking soda tab but it was a door hinge?? I thought this is weird in the middle of a park? I filled the hole and as I was picking up my detector it beeped again mine being as cheap as it is does that sometimes but I ran it over the spot again and dug down and hit something solid and sort of round. I had to dig around it and finally started to see that it was a door knob! I was thinking now all I need is a key and the door. Well you are never going to believe it but I found the hole door! ::) just kidding but about 5 feet away ( and I am dead serious) I found a key! It doesn't fit the doorknob but it was pretty cool. No silver for me yet but I did find some clad before I ran out of time. Thanks for looking!

finding a door knob is usally signs that a house was their at one time. i would check the area, you might find some good stuff!!! HH Bighead

And what was on the other side of the door? Just asking...

Hey I think I figure it out....that was opportunity knocking! You better go back and answer the door.

Its possible that when the park was graded fill dirt was brought in. In the past, not much attention was paid to clean vs dirt coming from a demo site, and a lot of things can be in it.

That's true and that's why I won't ever discount a place when someone tells me it has had fill dirt brought in until I run my detector. You NEVER know where that dirt came from and what treasure was inside of it.

You can find the most unexpected stuff at anyplace really.

Nice story.
