Your item looks like quartz, but I do not see any alterations by man. I appears to be a natural rock that has eroded with time.
It may be helpful if you study and read about the Indian artifacts that are found in your area. Also study how the projectile points were flaked. Once you understand how they were flaked you will instantly know that you have found a real artifact. If you find something that you are not sure of post, a photo and I am sure that someone here will help you. Just keep on hunting and sooner or later your bound to find a real keeper. Good Luck!

It does have a snake head shape but I think it's natural too. In my area the Catawba nation was predominant and their symbol of strength was a black snake so I have a similar dilemma with stones that look like snake heads. They even made and still do today snake pots with a snake on it. I end up using them for rock gardens.

Natural rock, appears to be quartz..

I read and study as much as anybody yon here that doesn't have a job or unlimited free time. I never said it was a artifact worked by man I said "looks like a snake to me".

if that had been photographed on the surface of Mars many would consider it proof of ancient life there......cool find.

Looks like you have some really nice points in your frames! :icon_thumleft: Thanks for sharing those.
