The rim is really fat and the reeding is almost gone. It is authentic that's about all I know. I can't describe what the pics will do for it. Stay tuned.

I believe it is the remains of a bezel or the like around it. It may once have been in a belt buckle or piece of jewelry.

It is not a key date coin, and in that condition I would scrap it asap.

you think scrapping at $32 is the right time :icon_scratch:

It could have been in a bezel or a botched spooning job or a door knocker or even in a belt buckle, but what's on the reverse of the coin? Has it been plated?

I honestly have no idea. Maybe paint? ??? It came in a traded lot. I traded a 2.50 common gold piece in AU58(NGC) for 24 Morgans and this was in the lot. I was very happy with the trade.

That's the most important thing

it is definitely in a silver bezel. Common coin low grade. Put it in your safe and forget about it till silver hits 50 bucks again.

IT'S NOT EVEN WORTH 32 BUCKS. MAYBE 22. IT'S HIS CALL ANYWAY.
LOOKS PRETTY WORN, AND MAY BE LACKING THE CORRECT WEIGHT.
JUST MY OPINION.

He probably meant scrapping @ $32 an oz. current silver melt price
