opinions on rock I found that didn't belong?

I picked up this piece of granite or feldspar? a while ago, because it stuck out like a sore thumb on the village sight/trash pile that I've been searching. There is no other rocks of this material there and I've gone over thousands of rocks. This one really didn't seem to belong. It seems to have reliefs on either side that fit my thumb and middle finger perfectly with my index on top. I have examined it and don't see peck marks but I think due to the coarseness of the surface they could have eroded away if they were ever there. Could this have been some sort of striking tool or is it just natural? Thank you.

There is lots of small coarse stones that show use wear in the "piles" down this way. Most are sandstone or cochina.
I imagine they were used to sand down or put an edge on different things.
I don't know if that one was used in that way but that would be what that stone is suited for.
Some are larger too.

This was found with many adze tools where dugout canoes were made.
Its beveled in opposing directions on opposite sides..apparently from when it was put in the other hand when one arm was tired.

Love that photo Tom.
I picture you placing that there with oven mitts.
