Detector(s) used
Minelab xterra, Whites DFX, Notka Makro Simplex. Folks the price don’t mean everything, the question is are you willing to put in the time to learn the machine, experience will pay off I guarantee it.

You want to ruin your resale value and or warranty, spray or paint some crap on your coil. Use a scuff cover, and don't be lazy.

You just gave me an idea! Ever heard of Silicone Stretch Covers?:skullflag:

Nobody create such yet , it wouldnt affect depth would it, silicone stretch covers exist ,

I have heard of people using truck bed liner spray with good results. Never tried it myself though, thinking about it.

coil covers arent meant to be tough as iron, they are meant to take the abuse instead of your coil. they only cost a few dollars and are meant to be replaced when they break. Even with that said, I have NEVER had a coil cover break on me.

Like Terry said, there are options if you dont care if you ruin resale value or dont care if it looks like crap, or voids your warranty.

Use a coil condom!

I just buy coils instead of covers.

:) ... :P

Consider this,.......

Plasti dip.webp

Plasti dip -2_240x240.webp

Plasti dip -3_285x240.webp

Comes in different colors.

Peels off when you want to change it up.

Terry, I can't quite read what it says about the bag, but can the 500 pounder be used hold the pulltabs I dig in a weekend?

My advice bag would be filled with tent stakes.

I would highly recommend using coil covers, they are much cheaper than replacing the coil. :icon_thumleft:

I just buy a couple extra coil covers for my machines, and as they get old/damaged- I replace them.

Just use the coil cover

Saw someone in UK offer not coil cover but coil bumper- stretch on to avoid nicks from rocks. I like this idea. Looked on eBay saw you can cheaply buy various sized rubber bands thick and wide. So get like 6” to stretch on a 9” coil. Doesn’t replace coil cover. It’s in addition.
Also manufacturers should offer option of open cover or solid cover or full cover. Some like the latter in stubble. But in all cases just buy an extra and replace when needed or if you decide to sell coil.
Don’t see why someone could not offer generic sized silicone full covers for coils. They might be more durable- certainly would be great bump guards when detecting rocky areas, and would look cool offered in various colors - red, blue , neon green , black. I never like the sound of hitting rocks. They’d also be easier to remove for cleaning.
Get on it after marketers.
