Hi!
After spending a good two hours reading, I have come to no conclussion. A million conflicting pieces of information on the internet, and an absolute mess!

Where can I detect legally, without a permit, in Orange County California? I will be around Mission Viejo, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach.
Going there for a 2 week vacation in a few days. Would love to bring my detector.

Thanks in advance!

Stay on the beaches and you probably wont get bothered.
Study the tide charts; hunt at low tide as far out as you can.
Don in SoCal.
PS: Don't go on Carlsbad or Oceanside beaches, I own them (tee hee).

Some of those beaches have a curfew, but, other than that, I've never had a problem detecting any of them. Same with the county and city parks for the most part, but, I haven't been on those in a couple of years, so, that could possibly have changed.
