The TH'ers are having a tough time with the City of Orlando. Now you have to register your metal detector and get a permit to hunt the City Parks. Bull Manure, that's like registering your gun so that one day they can confiscate them. That's why we have the Federation of Detectorists protecting our rights like the NRA does for the gun owners. This site I'm going to share with you might be good to me a CCW just in case some Hood tries to mug you. Always hunt in pairs. My old buddy, Claude Rainey would hunt this area and always pull $5 to $15 in change from the sidewalks. He got sick with cancer so he passed the site to me. Now I'm disabled and can't do the up and down anymore so it's time to pass it on to you youngsters. Here are the coordinates: 28.462738, -81.463653, park in the south corner of IHOP, cross the street to Wet & Wild: 28.462118, -81.464251; best to have a sniper coil here. On summer days, the line extends from the entrance and down around the corner. Guests splay themselves on the grass where quarters, dimes, nickles and pennies fall from their pockets daily. You can easily find $5 right here in change. There is also a Bus stop there too and there is change there as well.
From this point: 28.462341, -81.464319 to 28.450210, -81.470854. Between these two points, hunting the tree lawns, the grass between the street and sidewalk is loaded with change. Thousands of tourist walk this Golden Mile pulling a lighter or a wallet out of the pocket along with coins that bounce and roll into the grass. It's a mile between the two coordinates and it always produces. But you have to be wary as Hoods cruise that strip to rob tourists or snatch a purse. No one ever bothered me as I used a 18 inch ice pick probe and most bad guys don't like ice picks. I've had some shady characters ask me what I was finding and my answer was Pennies and junk as I pocketed two quarters that came out of the same hole, LOL. Just cut and paste the coordinates into Google Map or Bing Map so you know where to go. You can go north from IHOP toward Kirkman Road as its heavily traveled too. Good luck and let us know if you find any real good goodies.:icon_thumleft:

Awful nice of you to share those properties my old friend! Good to see your post this morning.

Jamie

Can anybody register to hunt in orlando.I live 30 miles away.

Very nice of you to share you productive locations.

I hope the TH'ers there are fighting back, because once they start taking things away it's a slippery slope, and things start disappearing rapidly! Best of luck!

If you guys start a petition let everyone know so it can get a lot of signers, and phone calls! That's what put a halt to them banning beach hunting here in Mass., they were overwhelmed by the sheer volume! Florida is a tourist magnet so it effects everybody not just the locals.

I think having to get a half million dollar insurance policy to hunt their lousy parks for pennies are a little overboard. I don't think treelawns can be classified as parks. I find more coins along tree lawns and it's on the right of way. I give youy this site because I can't hunt because of my disability. I can get down but getting up is a major issue. I stick with water hunting in chest deep water, its easier on my legs.

good thing I have a bayonet on mine :) If these rules get popular, and such a bayonet device is not already on the market it might be a money maker to sell an attachment to strap on :D

What is that for? What other uses are restricted to this distance? Why MD? If the park was surrounded bu such uses it would have to be over 90 acres (2000' x 2000' ) before you could detect anywhere, and then it would only be a small spot in the middle LOL

How is it just MD needs insurance and not the other park users? Starting a BBQ would be more dangerous, launching a boat, swimming, etc.

The peeps that made these regs need to hear from their constituents.

Are they nuts? Or do they think the residents need tinfoil hats to protect against the radio waves?

I bet they'd stick a cell phone tower in that "zone".

...or is that "o-zone"?
