ornate artifact found with 1781 Spanish reale in Croydon, Pa

this was 6 inches deep. its very ornate with 2 hooks opposing eachother on the reverse. i have no idea what it is. it looks like a leaf or flower that is flowing. it was found with a 1781 spanish 1 reale, 4 in. very ornate shoe buckle, 3 bullets.in a 3 foot area. in bristol twsp. pa.

I think its an old shoe buckle also but i can find no info on the internet about it does anyone here have any suggetions or a site about old shoe buckles? J.D.

any links out there for ID'ing old shoe buckles?????

The two holes would indicate to me a ladies hair or hat pin minus the pin of course. Have it looked at by someone in the know as these were common in the old days for the ladies. usualy gold as well.
