Oroville Dam - Does "Oroville = City of Gold" ?

Yes, it is real rich in gold, Oro is Spanish for gold. It's on the feather river drainage area. Water is still high from a higher than normal winter , when the water goes down there will be a lot of gold found, all along the motherload. Too bad the tree huggers found a way too have dredging made illegal.

conspiracy theories are a dime a dozen.

... just like the allegations that all these stories are "conspiracy theories."

Which can therefore only mean one thing: That all conspiracy theories must therefore be true. Right ? And all this time I thought the lizard people conspiracy theory was lacking merit . Hmmmmm

LOL! Now I have a question ---

Tom, did you ever wonder if your "conspiracy theory" allegations ... might be a form of "conspiracy theory" in that you think all of these stories must be "made up" thus suggesting you believe in an even larger conspiracy?

Do I understand correctly? One should not believe in a conspiracy theory ... even if there is evidence (oh, like nuggets or something akin to them) to back up any part of the claim?

Do we all need "tin foil hats?"

Most people can't even define the word "conspiracy".

A conspiracy occurs when two or more people commit a crime together. Usually the crime is fraud and the motive is usually finacial gain.

Those where the good old days.

Haha, well where does this stop ? Is your thought that my thoughts are "nothing but a conspiracy" ALSO "nothing more than a conspiracy theory that can therefore be dismissed?

And as far as:

... even if there is evidence ....to back up any part of the claim? ....

well GEE: All conspiracy theory have "evidence to back up parts of their claims". They are all RIDDLED with "evidence" (even the lizard people conspiracy)

But the problem is, that no matter how many parts of the story are true (names, dates , etc...) if the main desired conclusion is false, then it really doesn't matter how much of the rest of it is true. It would be like rat poison: 99% good grain. But it's the 1% poison that causes the entire amount to be useless and bad.

... (oh, like nuggets or something akin to them) ....

How does the presence of nuggets (in this case) mean that the failure of the dam was "on purpose" (ie.; a conspiracy to make the dam fail) ? That would be like you getting coins on the beach after beach storm erosion, and concluding that NASA or the CIA has developed a way to control weather phenomenon, that leads there to be goodies on the beach. Eh ?

Oro = Gold in Spanish, hmm perhaps there's some truth other than a Californian succession from the Union ?

Oops I said a bad word. Just thought it was something to ask. Ohh my fingers just conspired with my keyboard and what do you know.

It's all about the sheckles, if its a job you wont hear about it - as fact, lest someone risks their rump. Its one job this world !

Thank goodness God made Heaven ! Oh perhaps that's another 2 forbidden words ? hehe

Good to be back on this great forum after not visiting for years. Some great tales here, Cheers
