Headed out for a couple of hours after work. Pulled in lots of coins. The ACE 400 precesses the audio much different then the Garrett AT Series. The AT Series present a modulated audio out of the speaker, meaning, the shallow and smaller targets are louder then the deep ones. On the ACE 400, the deeper and smaller targets get an audio boost, making the deep targets easily audible. There are benifits for both types of audio.

Below are the bling and tokens......

John is it different than the 250 and 350 if so can you explain what the (audio boost) does?:icon_scratch:

The audio response should be the same as the older ACE Series. On the onc side of the "which is better" debate, the modulated audio on the AT Series detectors is much more utilized using mainly the audio tones to help getting depth, conductivity, ferrous/non ferrous. The TID is still available to help with the probability of what a target is. The ACE detectors actually boost the deep, tiny targets, so you don't miss them, especially when hunting in a noisy environment. And.......you still have the TID to help with a targets ID. I personally would want to have the modulated tones if relic hunting. On the other hand, if you like coin shooting, aren't too concerned about DEEP 6+ inches targets, the ACE Series would serve you well. No detector does it all, therefore, many detectorists have different detectors and different size coils to compliment them. Using the right detector with the right coil in the right environment definitely gives you an advantage.
