Yesterday, I headed out of Edmonton to a favorite gold digging spot along the north Saskatchewan River. Here's my location and rig, nicely packed up on a wagon, and set up.

After 6 hours of digging gravel, here is my cleaned up gold. I am guessing about half a gram. Nice to be out and enjoying the weather. :)

very nice pile of color, my gold clubs monthly meeting is saturday, one of our members was there last weekend, said theres alot of visible black sand from the heavy rains we had last week, gonna take my 4 inch highbanker

with that much sluice run .. if its classifying to 1/2 or less.

Try running with a little less grade

At least if your pump has decent volume.

if you can get the water faster you can always set your sluice flatter.

try it

I like your trolley for the water pump. Nice idea.

I am running a 1" pump this year, so I need to add a bit more grade, otherwise, my riffles plug up to much. My losses are at an acceptable level form my few checks which I have done.

I might switch to 1 1/2" pump next year. I am classifying my gravel to 3/8"

yea, that's not enough water for a sluice that big.. But you gotta do what you can.
