Been slugging away at this cabin site in southwest PA for months, and its slowing down bigtime.
This 8R is the one and only notable find from today but man o' man.. that'll do!
Bucket lister what can i say!
Here is a display shot of finds from the site since April.
Congrats on the Reale. I'm also in southwest PA and found a 1777 2 reale coin in my yard a couple years ago. Our house was built in 1948 with no historical significance to the area at all. A few miles out of the way for anyone travelling between Washington, PA and Pittsburgh. All I can figure is that it was given to a kid in the neighborhood and he lost it when he was outside playing. It was no more than 2 feet from whee the next door neighbors fill was dumped in order to level his lot for building. If it was lost in colonial days and IF there were more... they are now covered up by his house.
Excellent find Jim. I was surprised to get a text from you so early this morning and even more surprised when I opened it and saw what you found. I've seen 8 reales go up on the banner before and there's no reason this shouldn't be up there. My vote is going in now.

Thanks everyone for the kind words I just had a nap and literally dreamed about reales lol. This is some kinda day off
Here is what i saw first.. the pillars looking at me. I shut my machine off and just sat there for a really long time
Hey I need to apologize for not giving this a better reply. I was quickly scanning through and didn't see the 8R. I lazily assumed it was a 2R. These big monster pieces of silver are pretty damn tough to find. I'm voting BANNER on this sucker. It's worthy in my opinion
