John it looks like a civilian type overall button from the 19th century. It almost looks like it could have came off someones church uniform.

Yes i believe the 19 th century would be close and the cross like design. I'm going to try later to clean it up to see if its got a maker on the back.But its no big deal about it,just thought someone might have seen one before. Thanks

Could be I found it at an old mining camp site.

Can't tell what the size is but if its small I'd lean towards a cuff
