"P" Button

Fresh out of the ground this AM. Does "P" stand for Police? The back says WATERBURY COS. CONN.
If any of you button experts can help ID, I would really appreciate it.

Re: "P" Button

I found one just like it back in the Spring in an old park, but mine was smaller.. like a cuff button.
I posted a photo of it and was told it was a button off of a poicemans uniform.
Nice find.. probably got some age to it also.
