Kinda what I thought would you say nutting dish or paint ? Thanks for the replies everyone

I think I would get this checked out, you could have a fossil looks like it could be a bone socket or joint. That's a perfect hole there I'd get it looked at. Its a great find in any account.

No not made by man I know this lol I put that in the beginning sentence I know however it was used by man made by man no ... When the NA were mining chert or flint they would dig these rocks up with the chert I know this because of my time digging basements it is the same for most round rocks here natural but they would use them when they found them

And believe it or not I can give you a fairly accurate answer to how these rocks became round . When I was a kid we thought the NA made them round so my friends mom who knew a professor at Austin peay collage she took some to him to examine . His answer was that there were prehistoric mud or dung beetles that would roll "mud or dung " I can't remember witch into theses round balls and over time they became fossilized into round rocks this could be a wrong answer but it sure makes sense to me and as for my paint dish altered by man but not man made I hope this information helps out ;) HH

Its a neat rock, but looks completely natural...

Thanks for your opinion friend HH !!

But it is definitely man altered ;)

The big one, yes. Both pieces were there. The small one, I found on my farm and never found its mate.
