Big 'Ol blade, rather porous, was about 5 feet down in the muck at the edge of Lake Tarpon, Pinellas Co, FL. Slightly waisted about a third of the way up the base and ground, some small thinning flutes on the base. Could be Suwannee not needed to "finish".

Now that's a killer Tom. Keep it up ;D

Wonder what they were hunting, alligators? That is a beautiful piece, congrats.

Thanks,
It's made of coastal plains chert and is almost chalky/porous from age, maybe from the tannic muck.

Rough looking but, nevertheless a monster find.
Congrats on your find Tom.

Molly.
