Got permission to hunt 147 acres of private property with numerous ruins, house foundations, wells, spring houses etc. Should be a good summer. I had a couple hours the other day and just did some random spot detecting where I thought it looked promising. So far so good, cant wait to set up grids and really start pulling out some goodies. Here are some of the ruins and a few things I thought were interesting.

First flat head button and pocket watch on the back of the pocket watch I pointed out the serial number. Haven't been able to find anything on it.

This is pretty cool, Don't know what it is but its brass I think, good weight and its etched into a picture of a house. It looks very similar to the current residence house on the property that was built in 1843.

last but not least, an axe head and a buckle. any ideas on a rough date for the axe???

Is that a notch on that hatchet? I know that during the french-indian war, They notched there kills. Nice finds:thumbsup:

I'm very jealous! What a fantastic place to hunt. The possibilities are endless.

Those are some cool finds. The site looks more than promising. *yeah, I got site envy*...

Looks like a great place to detect, good luck!

You have allot of digging to do, better buy a monkey to pick all the ticks off you from those pix I'd be careful. How are the chiggers in Maryland?

Cool finds none the less, I'd want to dig every signal near where you found the ram rod piece, might be a muzzy in the ground?
