Because it's a Dog eat Dog world in South Florida and I got carried away with sharing my finds to encourage others, as I have been encouraged by others finds. And while doing this I gave awy my (for the time being) honey hole. Which would not have happened had I kept my "mouth" shut.

Re: I am no longer posting my finds....

Silence is always the wisest decision. Too bad about your spot...oh well...live and learn. Good luck to you...your finds have been amazing (of course, most people don't realize how much work it takes to make those finds, even in a great location).

HH!

Re: I am no longer posting my finds....

Don't stop postting your find . If people want to know where you found them tell like I do. Between The keys and Jacksonville ,thats where I found them. This way your telling the truth and your honey hole is safe.So HH from Ron Lord in Naples, FL

Re: I am no longer posting my finds....

Keep posting. It gives all of us who only find a few pennies hope and inspiration.

Re: I am no longer posting my finds....

You are obviously a talented hunter and a long standing member of tnet. even though i never commented on any of your threads i feel the need to say to you my friend , please don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch. many times through out my hunting life i thought that i let the cat out of the bag....but you must have faith in your own talent and know that.... sometimes i follow others down the beach and find stuff just to make a point ...i watch the way they move across the area and know that they are missing things that i will and have found...
I am embarking on a treasure hunt in the ocean and posted pictures of a site.
needless to say every salvage treasure hunter and their brother has propositioned

All I'm saying is its guys like you that put the fire back into guys like me that almost walked away from a hobby that i was good at and loved doing, keep up the good work.

Sincerely Limo Bob :icon_pirat:

first please dont take this the wrong way how could you lose your spot did you tell someone about it to my knowledge beaches belong to everybody so if someone else is hunting the beach thats his or her priv thats just the way it is the mistake you made was showing your finds on here if you hang steak in front of a dog he will eat it . ps i did the same thing on the east coast i didt post on here but some people where fishing by me when i was digging up a gold ring two days later there were 6 people metal detecting on the beach and now it only produces new finds and not very many lesson learned i enjoyed your posts but i knew this was going to happen know what do you do next hey you found those spots now get back out their and find some more and dont say nothing to anybody period .ps you should post this persons name on here jim

If as a hunter when you find a sweet spot, you do try to protect it. Yes they are public beaches, but many hunters dont want to say exactly where they found the treasures, rather you give a general area. Found at Miami or St Pete beach or beter yet found on the East or west coast, there are miles of beaches there so not really giving away anything. Telling someone I found it at Daytona beach is not as specific as saying I found the rings in front of the Hilton by the boardwalk.

Just like scubatreasure says, I have watched other hunters almost speed walking down the beach, and swinging their coil in a 160 degree arc like they are cutting weeds, as far as I am concerned they have not even disturbed the beach and I will hunt right behind them.

If a hunter I do not know walks up to me while hunting and asks me if I found anything I will usually reply, "just poptops and a few coins" it all depends on my mood.

finderzz unless someone is following you, saying you found so and so an a south Florida beaches should be general enough to not give it away....Hope you keep posting...

Man that sucks. Your finds have been great to see and read about. That's what makes people like me go out and buy a water detector even though any ocean beach is at least several hundred miles away. I can hit swim holes and dream about the ocean. Your and other great beach hunter finds keep the dream alive. :(

Hmmm. Edited to add...I see you changed title while I was posting. Second thoughts maybe? I hope you keep posting

Yeah, I think I posted in haste....

Without the original post this thread don't make much sense. But I think I gleaned the gist of it by guessing? Someone just seeing you in a spot will often cause a crowd to collect in the following days. It has happened to me many times. I keep in touch with City officials about when buildings are coming down and I am usually the first one there. Sure enough 3 or 4 days later there might be 4 or 5 people bumping elbows in "my" area. That's when I move on to the next one. Those were some great finds by the way. Monty

I used to fish bass tournaments and practiced with a buddy who was well known on the circuit. It was common to spot a competitor spying with binoculars from a distance to see what he was using for a lure, what we were catching, etc... Ole Jack would just smile, laugh and wave to let them know he knew they were watching. Funny to see someone scramble and take off when he did that. Said it didn't really matter, they were wasting time they could and should be spending out finding some fish. Don't let the competition get to you. There's alot more involved in making the finds than having a spot and you seem to have the right combination of tools and skills that result in recoveries. Someone else with a different machine and all may come in and not hit a thing.

what are you guys talking about ha ha finderzzz changed his post took mine off hh ps if you dont want anybody to find you take off your sat map of where you live and zip your lip
Hey my friend, I didn't take yours off. I don't know where it went. I read it earlier...But??? Wasn't I who removed it.

I like your posts and of course I want to know where you found them. I am not asking for the exact location. I like to know were you IN the water and if so how deep? Ankle deep, wet sand, dry sand, up by the dunes, near some rocks. That is the kind of info I like. As for the exact location. Shoot I don't always say either! In fact there are only a couple of places I talk about but there are many other hunters going there now anyway. Your finds are incredible and makes me "think" maybe I might be able to find something similar someday. I doubt seriously I will ever find them in the quanities you do but then I don't hunt everyday and definitely not for the hours you put in. WTG! Beautiful finds!

All were found in the water mumszie, from below the knees deep to neck deep. I work it all. So there isn't one specific depth at which I find the most unless I work a particular depth the most. You come down to South Florida and I'll take ya out Mumszie..

The water has been rough. I haven't yet used my hookah here. I used mine in Hawaii. Unless you get out early in the morning, should be doable.

Come on down to New Zealand. Ain't nobody to hassle you here. :D
I've only seen one other guy swinging on the beaches where I live.
Unfortunately there is not as much bling about as shown in those
stunning finds of yours......Nice.

Please keep posting your finds. The less fortunate get excited and want to have the same success. Just don't give up your spot. Thanks, keep posting.

That one was in Hawaii when I lived there. And yes, it is beautiful.
