Patriotic Civil War ring

Last Thursday I found a virgin Civil War camp and invited a buddy to hunt it with me. He made what I consider an incredible find with this ring.


It reads- UNION **** UNION **** (the N's are backwards)







Here are his other finds from the camp (1857 flying eagle, eagle button poker chip, navy kepi button, etc.)

That's a sweet ring, and great job on the triangle bullet. That ring reminds me of what i dug today. I dug this heart shaped thing today that may have been a locket........ with "Union Made" and a building in the center. I'm hoping to find out it's not a labor union, and a CW relic

John, I believe what you have is a Carhartt button.

Great finds Jeff, that ring is simply splendid. The other finds are also great saves but that ring.... WOW.

Dug one of those out here in Denver, at first I thought it was for the Denver Tramway Co.
I think it's from the 1890's, on mine you can see the electric cable car attachments.
