As he galloped and ran from the rear of his house, while his fellow countrymen slept in their beds quiet as a mouse.
As he fumbled with buttons while on a dead run, he knew all too soon that this was no fun.

That will be revealed as they date artifacts and testing. I'm guessing, that is.

There's lots of stuff down them privies! And yes there is odor. That's a key to finding them. I've been all over this place trying to find the privies. Thought there should be more than one because it's nearly 200 yrs. Went to a digger club and asked someone. Found out in the country, they didn't bother. They just ran outside!

Hmm, Sewer Detecting in big cities? might be stinky but somebody holds their nose and does it, I bet there are some good finds.

People used to throw their trash in privies. As seen in the news clip, they found a broken piece from a beer Stein. This "trash" will be historical clues to colonial history. I don't know what kinds of "trash" people look for except for bottles. I'm sure there's other stuff. But finding a 240 year old bottle intact would be a really cool historical piece and it would probably fetch a pretty penny considering who's privy it came from.
It reaffirms the saying...
One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Exciting! I was on a dig/salvage that intersected a privy, that was twelve feet deep, filled with mostly bottles - the ol' boy drank heavily, and someone in the family had Consumption (TB)...!
