Pay- to Pan sites for SC/NC

Where is a pay to pan site in NW SC or SW NC? Would like to find a site to take family and learn. Goggle has turned up nothing and I'm not a GPAA member.

In NC, I've panned Reed Gold Mine and Cotton Patch Mine.

I was told by some veterans, that Reed is salted.

I had some good luck at Cotton Patch, but the variety of gold type and color leaves me questioning; especially when they dump everything into a cement mixer, and I got 18 colors in one Magic Wheel cup (bottom of the bbl?). All of the quartz is snow white, yet gold appears in the mix. If you're scoopoing this from your paydirt, why are you mixing it?

This Spring, I want to try the Uwharries.
