2. Stop pestering PBK for button ID's. ;D

I found this button today at a colonial site I've been hunting. Back mark says...Imperial Orange Gilt. Front appears to depict a cannon with a few things above it including some writing. Any ideas?

Sorry I didn't respond sooner, but I've had to spend a little more time offline this week.

Looks like a War of 1812 period U.S. Artillery Regiment button. Lots of varieties, but here's an example:

it looks like a regiment of artillery button 1808 to 1811 the writing above the eagle says artillery and regt. is written below the wheel of the cannon . ay-46 or ay-47 in alberts book is it 23mm in size Evolution
