Pecked Pestle, Perhaps?

This yard sale find looks to me to be a naturally flatten rock that has been pecked into a narrower form at one end to better accommodate a hand/grip. Agree? Are those peck marks? And does the 'business end' of this pestle - if it is a pestle - show any use-wear? The texture of that business end sure is different than any other texture on the piece, but not sure. Thanks for the help!
