Returning to the land that I had obtained permission to MD on, CSA1Chipper, his buddy KBaker, and I met up at the field that I had found the Gardner bullet the day before. Today we played "Dodge the T-Storms" and had to stop only once when the sky got black as coal for about an hour. Mother Nature put on a show for us throughout the afternoon. We were joined by CWDigger after the T-Storm passed and to say it was a good day for all is an understatement. KBaker got a Block I button, the front of an eagle button and he finally got his first silver in the form of a 1934 Mercury Dime. CSA1Chipper found a number of shot three ringers, and for CWDigger the musket balls came thick and fast. My best day so far since starting this hobby. Here are my finds:

A. Razor head with wood
B. Small flat button
C. NC State Seal Button (Score!!)
D. Robertson Extra Rich flat button (May be a button back)
E. Camp Lead and impacted .69 Cal Musket Balls
F. Buck Ball
G. .44 Cal Pistol Ball
H. .69 Cal Musket Ball
I. Two Williams Cleaners (One appears chewed by an animal)
J. Cannonball Fuse Cap? (If anyone can confirm this, please do so)
K. PGA Tour Partners Club Charter Member token/ball marker
L. Spoon (No MD Hunt is complete without one)

A good day today!

Just following PapaBears thread as I said I would here is a group shot of everything found today. Im very thankful that I was asked to come hunt this site, its not about always finding something, I get more enjoyment out of others finds than I do my own, to get that first 30 sec of PapaBear's facial expression was priceles

Now this is Papabear holding his first CW button that he has ever dug, both he and I got a signal at the same time only 3 feet apart. His turned out to be a good one, A beutiful NC state seal Coat button, congrats bud glad I was there to witness it.

I will remember that solid 82 on my G2 for a long time.

Man you guys killed it!! Fantastic.Hey don't find it all ,I will be back in three weeks!! Your NC button should clean up nice!!

I will most likely leave it be. I think that field has plenty more in it. We will get you out there.

Thanks for the info. The button is the bottom description with a dot between each letter. Wow! 1813 to 1828. What does rm and dm mean?

So now the question is. What do I do to preserve the NC Button?
