✅ SOLVED "PENINSULAR" Metal Disc?

Found metal detecting in Metro Detroit Michigan, metal disc, likely Iron. Back side is flat except for square hole which leads to a jutting out portion on the top side. Top side has an inner raised circle with the word "PENINSULAR" written around the edge of it. Raised lip around the rim. Pictures are attached.

Any info about possible origins would be appreciated
