During gun season I decided to pass on the field hunting and made a drive up to NE Grand Rapids to hunt my brother's 1920's lawn again. I found a SLQ here last hunt and was hoping to find more silver. Instead, I felt like I was in a kid's penny hunt.
Ended up with 2 quarters, 2 dimes, and 32 pennies, two of which were wheats. ('53 & '46D) Best find was a token/coin from the "American Legion 1937 Kiddie's Christmas Party, Grand Rapids, Michigan." In the hole it gave off a glint of gold that made me do a double take.
Also found a big ring of keys which somebody must have been sick to lose. I'm guessing a janitor owned them as there are two groups of similar keys. Also found a Mason lid with holes punched in it....must have held someone's firefly collection years ago. Enjoyed brunch with my brother's family as well.
