Pennies and nickels

did $40 in nickels, and $20 in pennies, heres the outcome
nickels: 5 pre 60
Pennies: 4 wheaties: 1910 (YES!!) 1941, 1952D, and 1958D. The 1910 was by far my oldest wheat found (next to 1926) so even though i only got 4 wheats in 40 rolls, that was a nice highlight.
also, 23 canadian pennies, oldest 1958
I guess thats not great, but not bad either, hopefully i'll pick some more up later.

What is the interest in pre 60 nickles? I keep them just because they are old...Is there something that changed that makes them more valuable?

Technically i believe a nickel is now slightly more value then face.....but currently just because they are older and some are actually difficult to find.

Same reason you do. Theres nothing special about them, they might sell for 6 or 7 cents a piece in bulk, and i've people sell them at coin shows for 10 cents a piece, but other than that, nothing special. Unless its a war nickel (35 % silver) or uncirculated, it's rare to find sharp pieces from back then due to a smooth die, and if you can see individual steps on monticello, then you've got something.
