Pennsylvania Heat Advisory 11 AM TO 8 PM EDT FRIDAY..

A Heat Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Friday, July 25th, 2025 for Schuylkill County and nearby Pennsylvania counties.
HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM EDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 104 expected.

* WHERE...Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, Schuylkill, and York Counties.

* WHEN...From 11 AM to 8 PM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This level of heat affects anyone without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. Impacts likely in some health systems, heat-sensitive industries and infrastructure.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Young children should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. LOOK BEFORE YOU LOCK.

Never gets over 80 much here but they make us take heat exhaustion training at work. But I grew up in a place where it was the norm to be out workin every day in over 100 degree heat. I knew a guy who suffered heat exhaustion (we called it sunstroke then) and he told me he could never take the heat after that. And it can actually kill you. So don't over do it in the heat, stay hydrated, and take care.
