Re: Perhaps this needs to be in the 'rubber room' but lets keep it civil.
LOL!
The point of placing two criminals on the same ball field wasn't to say one is as terrible as the other; it was more to facilitate thought on the possibility of a reoccurrence of their crimes and how it would affect your family. Most folks here do live in homes and would not want to see them burned down due negligence let alone a deliberate act. In so far as the pedophile, I believe everyone here has a child, grandchild or at least a niece of nephew who would not want to see any harm come to them.
I think questions such as the OP posed show rare insight, not in the apparent quick answer that folks posted, but rather the process and scenario they thought up that ultimately formed their opinion of the final situation in one's own mind. The beauty (intentional or not) of the OP's questions is, they provide enough setting and framework for a responder to fill in the details based on a personal experience or a fantasy, none of which are imperially 'right' or 'wrong.'
Reading through them is interesting enough, but I guess I would have to be a trained social scientist to truly understand some of them! I was simply trying to provide some interesting chapter titles in this otherwise free form novel.
