Perhaps this needs to be in the 'rubber room' but lets keep it civil.

question:
-If a person is behind you with a handful, do you hold the door open for them?
-If an animal has it's foot stuck in a garbage can, do you stop and help it?
-If a child in the park just broke his ankle on a slide, do you try and find the mom to help?
-If you're neighbor just had his home burnt down, Do you offer... blankets and food?

This should not be a loaded question, but it is. Let's test ourselves, because sometimes we need paradigms to bring us humans together.

Yes to all of them!

At the risk of sounding redundant, I'll say no to all of them.

#1 yes -- try to help by holding the door for the other person --

#2 yes also -- that is if i can aviod being bit by the animal in question while trying to assist it. -- also be on the lookout for wild or rabid animals that might attack once freed.--

#3 --of course if a child gets hurt -- i will try to locate the parent if i can -- they should be close by (hopefully)

#4 as a neighbor of course i try to assist them.

Ditto,without question.

1- If it is someone whom I loath, the answer is No
2- Depends on the animal, but for the most part no. A trapped animal is scared and may be aggressive for the most part, so I don't need to be bitten, or clawed. Call an animal shelter.
3- The mother should be there, so I see no need to look for her.
4- blankets and food? I think they would need shelter over that, open your home :dontknow:

yes to all.. its how I was raised.

Re: Perhaps this needs to be in the 'rubber room' but lets keep it civil.

Yes to all with the understanding that with the animal scenario I would base my decision on each situation (but not a definite no).

Re: Perhaps this needs to be in the 'rubber room' but lets keep it civil.

#1 Depends on what they have a handful of. Groceries, yes. A hunter with a bunch of dead ducks, NO WAY! (this scenario actually happened to me)

#2 Absolutely!!

#3 Yes

#4 I would help anyone that asked for it.

You said it was a loaded question, but this is my response. I was raised in a different culture, so my repsonses may be different. #1 If I get to the door first, I hold it open for whomever. #2 I never encountered an animal with its foot caught in a garbage can, but I would release it. (Not for everybody, as you could get hurt. I feel comfortable and capable in doing that.) #3 If a child was injured, I'd first get medical help there. We could find the mom later. Maybe the sirens would get her attention. #4 The neighbor's home burnt down. You're welcome in my home, dude. You might have to sleep on the floor, but we can make room until your people show up to help you out. Actually, I've been in all those situations already and acted accordingly. (Except for the animal with its foot in the garbage can. Never seen that. I did release a hawk from a leg-hold trap once.)

I do this handfull or not

-If an animal has it's foot stuck in a garbage can, do you stop and help it?

no. Not a human being so...... I'm guessing helping wouldn't even
cross my mind.
if it were a definate animal I could Cook Legally
I'd do what I could to make that happen.

-If a child in the park just broke his ankle on a slide, do you try and find the mom to help?

I'd do what I can

-If you're neighbor just had his home burnt down, Do you offer... blankets and food?

Probably Not. I'm sure they would have already
been offered these by Women in the Neighborhood,
who live for doing this stuff. Women are Bread & Razed to
Nurture & Cook

But if the Neighbor came to me Requesting something I Had,
Of Course I would give.

This should not be a loaded question, but it is. Let's test ourselves, because sometimes we need paradigms to bring us humans together.

I say yes to all of them because it is the right thing to do.

Yes I hold a door alot

If I can help an animal with out getting bit yes otherwise Id call for help

I would look for mom if she not running to child I would help while looking for mom

If the neighbors home caught fire ...well the one his family is 2 blocks away so he'd have help an the other theres so many don't really know who ar how many at any given time. I would offer cold drinks and phone till Red Cross, SA, or their family/friends got there. But I am more worried about their fireworks right now!

Re: Perhaps this needs to be in the 'rubber room' but lets keep it civil.

Of course I would do what I can to help out in any of those situations...I would not just look and walk away.

Since I have spent quite a bit of time in various countries exploring, I have found that the more primitive and isolated ones do all 4, and so do I..

By all means, don't get me wrong, I believe one should do this as well. This was presented to emphasis the BackAssWard thinking of some people.

Devil's advocate here to "What If" it to death...

1. What if you're carrying groceries too, or there is someone else accompanying the grocery holder?

2. What if it was a racoon or the neighborhood nusance dog stuck in YOUR garbage can after spreading trash around?

3. What if the child was just finished bullying your children and the mother has been known to blame other people for her childs problems - maybe she'll accuse you of pushing her child down because you were protecting your own?

4. What if it was an independant halfway house for pedophiles or felons - perhaps "reabilitated" arsonists?

How now, brown cow?

Lotta What iffs can Ruin your whole prospective on life
if you worry about them. :D

#1. it's the person closest with a free hand
who most likely would help all. at least around here.
But of course I Guess there are a few who would ignore
all ;D

#2. Is there enough room to
Get my Bumper, or Tires over the top of it ?
Am I carrying ?

Honestly same answer as before. Don't realy pay attention
to animals so even if I saw it, it would only be
for a glace & i'd keep about my Buisness.
