I was able to get permission with a camp director to let me detect on an camp that has been around since late 1800's. His only request was to show him what ever I find that might be of historical value to the camp. Here is what I found. A huge horseshoe (has to be from a "horseshoe pit" game), Craftsman pocket knife from the 1960's and my best find a August Buermann spur, circa 1920, in really great condition. It even had some leather still attached to it.

I am giving the spur back to the camp, maybe I should make a cool display for it.

Good on you ! Spurs (especially in such great condition as yours) have a real "American" feel to them. Evokes images of the wild west when done up nice is a shadow box. Congratz.

love the spur.
