Good day, all,

There is a place I'm aching to go detecting. I pinpointed where the old house used to sit as well as all the old outbuildings.

One problem: It's now a professional horse farm--as in owned by His Highness Sheik Mohammed (UAE) horse farm.

Any advice about getting permission? Should I just forget it?

Just go up and ask the worst they can say is no, if you don't ask then you have no chance of getting permission.

You might mention that you are removing metal items that might cause harm to his horses and you WILL DO IT FOR FREE!

Surely someone into equestrian stuff has the money and time to appreciate history right?

Indian Steve is right,, we find old parts from farming equipment all the time as well as horse shoes. The locations where old structures stood, also give up tons of nails.
