Metal Detecting
My son and I found this rock while medal detecting along the river in illinois. It was next to a large tree along the bank in the ground. In the picture, my son has lightly outlined the carvings in black chalk to get a better visual on camera. Not sure what is it is, how old, or what is means. The carving seams to be on all sides, corresponding with each side. Any input is appreciatted. Thank you for your time.

Looks like it was hit by a plow a few times.

Petroglyphs ?
really?
Looks like a blue crayon over a stone
based on the pic, I see no evidence that there are carved marks
Looks like a natural stone

I hope you checked under it with your detector! Frank

Careful it might end up on Oak Island. seems everyone that finds a rock with a line ends up there these days

It's definitely an important and potentially historic Leaverite, sometimes referred to by knowledgeable and well trained Treasure Net Members as a sex stone.

In laymen terms it's a FR, or simply a rock.
