Update: this has been ID’d as a 2nd Regiment South Carolina button from the Rev War.

I dug this pewter button today that appears to have part of a number on the face. It looks like part of a number 3 (which is upside down in the pictures) and would make it a SC 3rd Button. I was using the XP Deus HF Round Coil and investigated an iffy signal. Out pops this button.

I have talked to a few people that have found the Number 3 buttons around Savannah and they say that each button has a little different style of the number 3.

Here is one that I found a few years ago.

Tough one. But I still like it.

They also find the Chatham Artillery rattlesnake buttons around Savannah and that's a nice one in your pic. I had to pay for mine

Awesome relics

I really like the buttons and that one sure looks old. Congrats on the save.

So we have a positive ID- this button is a Rev War 2nd South Carolina Button- Francis Marion's Regiment before he became the Swamp Fox
