Pewter or silver button, possibly colonial era

A few weeks late, but here is my latest find from NH. A possible colonial button, could be silver or pewter, I'm not sure. It came up as aluminum and 5 cents on the ID. (Almost thought for sure I had a ring :laughing7: ) Its very light weight and paper thin. Not sure if its civilian or military. But still a cool find!

Yes you have an 18th century button of Tombac material. When those are turning up you are on an early site.

Thanks for the confirm. I thought it was a tombac button but wasn't sure. Our property dates back to 1700's and was a sheep farm.

Yeap its a Tombac alright.
