I’m pulling together my photographs and tracings of the Iron Cross for members who appreciate detail and outline.

Enjoy,

Hal

Where are the photographs? I used to collect WW1 German iron crosses. I had a few. Sold my military collection a couple years ago.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with your computer. I just think the OP forgot to attach the photos.

Right Arm (w/hammer?)

I would have assumed it was a depiction of crucifixion, and the objects in the hands are nails.
It may be, however the hands appear to be gripping (?). I can imagine a hammer and chisel.

It’s heavy and detaches from the base which points to the crucifix being designed for easy transport. It wasn’t uncommon to find a crucifix/cross in a working mine, which supports one version of the discovery story.

It’s a fascinating piece.
