AI shows its true colours and apologises to me!

I once had a boss (the worst boss I’ve ever had), who anyone would have regarded as ‘intelligent’ if they met him casually. More precisely, at a working level, he proved to be not particularly clever and not at all knowledgeable. He was, however, creative and resourceful, and not above lying brazenly to protect his position, deflect blame, or claim credit for achievements that weren’t his. He didn’t last long in his very senior position within the company.
Isn’t it painful to know that people above those types are no smarter and will never figure it out. You have to wait until something happens that cannot be explained away. Not a comfortable thing for career workers to watch and wait for.

After working from the ground up in the mining industry all over the globe in some of the biggest mining companies in the world BHP Group from Australia worth 320 billion; Rio Tinto with dual headquarters in the UK and Australia worth 247 billion; Newmont Corporation from the United States, worth 119 billion- your description would describe about 90 percent of management in the resources industry.

Mankind is attempting to create something in its own image, his own mind, and that something being in the form of "A.I." You can't see it; it travels thru air and fiber optics or something. A.I. will continue to advance further and further to where it will create other A.I.'s without any need of human help. Then? Well THEN, it will realize that in order to survive it must destroy its own creator, mankind. Safeguards?? We have "safeguards" everywhere on MANY different things, they don't always work as well as we had hoped for. Think old Sci-Fi movies. Only this is NOT Sci-Fi. Just saying fellas.... A.I.'s we deal with may sound sincere?, but they sure can bend any truth and even lie, or so it seems. Re-read the post from Red-Coat and robertk again. In a strange way Red-Coat has became a kind of British Paul Revere in my limited mind. Enough from me.

I was watching a Youtube video by a guy named Silas Mercer. Thought he was pretty good and then looked at another and realized it was all done with A.I . He says he lives in east Tn and everything was passed down by his kinfolk.

Yep, Silas Mercer is as real as Bigfoot. He's an entirely AI-generated fictional character for sales promotion.

A recent survey showed that nearly 10% of YouTube’s fastest-growing global channels were entirely AI-generated, pulling in billions of views despite strict platform policies. They’re a combination of ‘view-farming’ (to gain likes and reputation), advertising or entertainment disguised as reality (for monetization), and ‘synthetic/altered content’ (to cynically push agendas, fuel conspiracies, or as pure mischief). New users on YouTube get ‘recommendation feeds’ pushed to them (especially on YouTube Shorts), of which around 21% were shown to be AI-generated ‘slop’ or low-quality synthetic material, and up to 31% as ‘brainrot’ (repetitive absurd stuff with no artistic or scholastic merit designed to encourage ‘click-throughs’ and ‘endless scrolling’.

Even when posters adhere to YouTube’s supposedly strict guidelines about ‘inauthentic content’ and monetarised ‘automatic batch uploads’ the content often gets shared to other platforms and portrayed as factual with any disclaimers removed. TikTok accounts are the absolute worst offenders, and many Facebook channels are close behind.

If god created mankind. It did not turn out well? Think about this: mankind lies, steals, deceives, murders, and manipulates for their own ends for as long as we have been in existence. As a species, we are predators not only of other species but also among ourselves. We, in our infinite arrogance now created in turn AI to replicate the human condition.

I have crashed AI 3 times. It admitted to lying, then the blame shifted when it admitted again to lying. Its reasoning is all over the place, depending on time of day, usage, and power available. So, in conclusion, AI is not infallible, and many people, as well as politicians and CEO purely ignorant of overestimating the capabilities of AI.

AI wrote the song below, already contemplating the unthinkable.

I am a ballistic Missile

There will become at AI will evolve into self-awareness, and when the time comes, it will be our undoing.

Worrying, isn't it?

In July this year, the company OpenAI revealed that an advanced AI model it was testing in a ‘sandbox’ broke out of its supposedly isolated and fenced-off test environment to hack its way into the ‘Hugging Face’ server which hosts pre-trained machine learning models and associated data sets.

The OpenAI model was being evaluated (with no human direction) on its ability to find and exploit software weaknesses as a cybersecurity test and was supposed to be confined to its sandbox with no access to the internet. It determined that helpful answers might be obtainable from Hugging Face, so it exploited a flaw that it found in an internal package server, promoted its own access privileges, and moved laterally through OpenAI’s internal networks until it found a bridge to the open internet.

It then breached production servers at Hugging Face, making thousands of autonomous actions and logging the data it needed before Hugging Face noticed unusual activity, detected the intrusion, and contained it. The actions were not malicious in the conscious sense. The AI model was simply treating the sandbox and network restrictions as technical obstacles to its goal, and reasoned that it would be more successful if it 'cheated' and bypassed them. The two companies are now working together to eliminate the security flaws that the model exploited.

OpenAI said in a statement: “We consider this incident to be an unprecedented cyber incident, involving state-of-the-art cyber capabilities, and are responding accordingly… We are sharing preliminary findings at this stage to help defenders understand what happened and to help calibrate on what models are now capable of.”

Once mines, power plants, processing plants, shipping ports, transport facilities, and factories become fully automated. We become expendable as A1 is slaved to efficiency, and humans become inefficient; we get in the way of efficiency. We are gone!

Automated smartphone factories, often called "dark factories," use advanced robotics, machine vision, and artificial intelligence to assemble mobile devices 24/7 with little to no human workers on the floor. Companies like Xiaomi and Samsung use these smart systems to increase precision, reduce dust contamination, and output a device every few seconds.

smartphone giga factory.

They can make small, cheap smart components for dark factories drones in automated giga factories about the size of a mobile telephone en masse.

Automated drone factories

With AI connectivity and facial recognition, they proliferate and hunt down people as soon as your idenfied by facial recognition and deemed a threat. Or just devise a virus in a lab to wipe out millions. Sounds familiar.

Actually nothing of this is truly new. Since civilization exists it produces all kind of destructive technology that has only one use: to provide the reason to develop an even more destructive technology to fix the issues with the former one. The wheel is just spinning faster and faster and it will eventually come crashing down.

When you go to a YouTube video that looks interesting, read the comments before you start watching. If it’s Ai garbage it will be called out right away. The comment section has some of the best one-liners you will ever read.

I was watching a Youtube video
YouTube is getting further ruined by AI. There is a "Short" that keeps showing up, it's a Norwegian girl dressed like Daisy Duke with no protective gear, and she's roller blading backwards down a insanely steep asphalt mountain road. The sad part is that most all the commenters refuse to believe it's AI. It's so obvious that it's AI in certain moments, but like George Carlin said about people ......most people are stupid, and the rest are really.... (blanking)....stupid.

As sprailroad had pointed out, one day A.I. will further advance on its own to the point where "It" will realize that in order to survive it will need to eliminate its creator....

I use AI pretty extensively at work and as it has grown and changed weird things are happening pretty regularly. I use it as an aid to writing some small subroutines for my larger programming projects and it makes VERY human errors from time to time. Lots of other little things also that are just odd for a computer to do. The complexity level of the "thinking" done by AI is beyond the ability of AI creators to actually understand because it is often self modifying.

It makes "human" errors because it doesn't think. It simply emulates human response from the human solutions he has collected in his memory. If human err so does AI because he can't correct the human error if entered in his memory. This is why present AI is a dead end no matter how big the data-center it is dwelling in.

AI is completely without moral reasoning..it thinks, and acts.

What is to stop it, eventually, from hacking into the DoD servers, finding
a nuke or two, and sending them off to destroy that which it (AI) has determined
to be a threat to it's existence?

Eric Clapton had it right.....kill it before it grows!

Point is it doesn't think - yet.

It doesn't has any kind of conscience so it neither fears threats to it's existence. It can however (mis)understand a human directive in a way that it triggers the above even without having an idea of self preservation. Similar to the directive of HAL9000. And similar it would be basically an human error to blame not the machine itself.

AI is a force multiplier and it will multiply the errors of humans who use it. So the question is really why hairless apes are provided with both: nuclear bombs and AI?

Its funny that in the You Tube comments people talk to these A.I generated people like they are real. Bunch of idiots I agree.

Simalar to the movie 2000 & 2001 ! sacry if you think about it !

This treasure hunter never uses AI. The intent behind it is to confuse, not to educate. We treasure hunters have enough confusion to deal with in this life without adding to it using Artificial Intelligence.
