This is my find from last week ( trying to figur out how to post b/c i know i picture is required for first post ) Been reading for a few months enjoying others stories and coin roll hunting for about a year and half )

Was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to clean coins specifically wheat pennies and buffalo nickles ( ive heard and read about nic-a-date) but does that work on a nickel that looks like its been buried for 25 years! Any advice would be great thanks

Nic a date does work. It will restore the date for nickels with the dates and mint marks worn off. I could be used to clean coins also. I bought mine on eBay I think.

For copper pennies, I use hydrogen peroxide warmed in the microwave and then drop my dug corroded pennies in it. I did it this weekend to a dug coin that I couldn't make the date out on. After a couple treatments, it turned out to be a nicely detailed 1929.

I wouldn't put either on a key date coin.
