Pics of what you drive around in while in the gold fields.

Just out of pure curiosity, what do you drive around in when out in the desert or mountains looking for gold. I know most are probably using an atv but I'm curious about the 4wd pickups, crossovers and the like.

I'm renting a full size car next weekend and going to Mohave county Az for a little prospecting. It all about how you drive it ;) (4wd helps tho lol)

I usually bury myself in the desert between 25 and 60 miles off the blacktop using my Tacoma 4x4, then make base camp and from there I use a honda ct110 to get to out of the way areas to detect.

Those boots are made for walkin BUT them days are over for me! If I cant get my 4x4 ATV there I guess I just cant do it!:dontknow:
Are those the 2014 models? Got the 2016 models and appreciate the more aggressive tread. Whatcha got on yours? About 11,000 miles? :tongue3: Mine still got lotsa miles left on em, but my suspension is totally shot & I think the trany is about toast! :tongue3::laughing7:

I bet you got some good fuel mileage out of those. You said the engine is ready for a tune up?

Here is what I drive around looking for gold.

My 0ld school 4x4 Chevy, and the "Billy Goat" we use to go way back in the Bradshaws.

We don't have any gold fields here in the Ozark Mountains but after roughly 1,500 hours labor over nearly two years I built this one of a kind street legal rock crawler I call The Mistress. It has a High Pinion Dana 60 front axle from a 79 Ford and a 14 bolt full float rear axle, custom cross over stearing, suspension, 4 wheel disk brakes, 37" tires, and on and on and on. The best part is being able to say I built it myself.

I'm guessing N. Wesr Arkansas has some big rocks?

I have a place in the Kimichi's and I could use that rock crawler.

First vehicle of mine was a 49 Willys 4x4 than a 56 Chevy 2 wheel drive station wagon with a Rokon then an M38A1 24v military jeep then a Chevy LUV and now a 92 Bronco 4x4 and someday a new Toyota 4x4 Tacoma. Its been a real merry go round with vehicles though I like to stay with the 4x4 type even though the compound low 4x4 is only used about 0.5% of the time. Use to be used a lot more back in my 20's and I want it to be more now!..............63bkpkr

Usually far off the beaten trail... on the Rokon. More like Driving a D-4 than a trail bike... it takes me places a 4X4 & ATV won't go!!! But, more importantly... It carry's all my heavy tools: Rake, pike, Picks, sledge, come-alongs, Food, Water and other essentials...and it also Charges all my electronics.
