i see where people will put a picture up and people dowse it for them. how does this work? i am assuming some type of program that picks up on land changes associated with where minerals are found. how accurate is it? could you use it to find a gold ring that has been buried for 60 years?

There has always been debates and theories as to how dowsing works. We know it does work and each person who practices it has their own thoughts about it. Wether it's photo or field dowsing, some believe its electromagnetism, and some believe there is a spiritual connection or a combination of both. Personally I don't dwell upon why it works, I know it does and my belief is that it's both spiritual and electromagnetic. I just let go so to speak and go with the "feel" and "swing" of it while concentrating on what it is I'm looking for and let whatever makes it work do it's part.
I feel that most dowsers believe there is a like to like attraction between objects of similar composition and the dowsing instruments reactions must be understood in order to make a successful location. Dowsing is about collecting information. The photos and maps don't have real gold or silver in the paper they are printed on but they do contain information in the view that was captured. Therefor the dowsers task is to collect what information is contained in the view regarding gold/silver or whatever the search is centered on. We know that we need to be part of the process other than just holding on to the instruments. Dowsing requires a lot of mental concentration. It takes a lot of mental energy to concentrate on what you are searching for wether its picturing in your minds eye what it is you are looking for and/or asking a question in your mind about the existence of the item of search in your search area. Accuracy is a function of the person performing the dowsing work. The more concentration that the dowser employs the better the accuracy, followed by the scale and clarity of the map/photo. I once dowsed a 1" = 100' photo of a place on the west coast of the U.S. and was off 4' on a cache of silver coins. So very rarely is there a 100% hit for a location. I pinpoint the best I can do with what I have to work with. We do the best we can and only by feedback from the person doing the search can we find how accurate the dowsing work was. I have no doubt that if you were to post a photo of where you feel a gold ring is that the dowsers here will be able to provide you with accurate information.
I hope this helps.

For myself Jon I think a lot like you do...Some days it is easy and other days real hard......the map or photo makes a big difference as to the accuracy...The main thing I try to do is just get in the general area.......Art

Do you think perhaps dowsing is done by a spirit entity ? I had a really weird experience in the philippines once involving a demonic spirit.

Gee Mike...Could you please tell the membership why a spirit entity would help Treasure Hunters?.....Art
