Could not believe my eyes when I cut the plug and found not another junk token, but a 1903-0 Barber half! Dug this in the outfield in this small county park, dedicated around the late 70's. I had previously researched this area and found that it had been in use since the early 1900's. I had pulled a couple mercs out of here, but never expected this!
Soil in this park is full of iron, and 70% of the coin was stained copper-color. Yes, I cleaned it as best I could, (chemically), anyway, it's a 10-dollar coin at best.
Thanks for lookin........FFD

Always nice to get THAT kind of surprise in your plug!

Congratulations on the Barber half, I found one earlier this year!

Nice silver right there...Congrats...jgas

It's always great to see a silver popping out, instead of what one might figure it might be.

That find would make my week... or month. For some reason, halves and especially Barber halves are tough to find, at least anywhere that I can think of.
