Not saying it is but shape on back suggests to me a latch of sorts. Diary or briefcase,suitcase,trunk?

Yup ...that's it for the hinge Releventchair !
How about that pin? Seems to be missing something in the center ? Their was a pin through hole ??

L.o.l. I,m confused now. Your piece is solid on back,allowing use like suitcase latch. Its hinge piece kinda like your standing pic, fit in between two other pieces with a pin through them all.Pin came out and your piece made a run for it. Your last pic.,the eyes on loops make no sense,to me, even if allowed to be pinched to pass through something,why? unless maybe a strap end on a book/bible I don,t know. Sorry.
