It could be rose quartz or it could be glass. Look at it with magnifying glass for bubbles. If bubbles are present it's glass. If not, nice gift.

Thank you for such a quick response. There is no bubbles inside so it must be quartz. I was hopping it was a pink diamond. boohoo.

I would be considered a very "Clear Quartz" or maybe even so clear it could be a herkimer diamond.. However the "pink" you've referring to is not the crystal's actually color.. Moreover it from the rust deposits in and around or that which has seeped into the crystals makeup.

Clean it up some,soak it in iron out,it will take the rust stains off of it.Then take a pic away form anything it will gather color from.I pretty sure theres some pink in there.

Not sure by what you mean by soaking it in iron out. There is nothing on the outside of the rock to soak off of it. Can you explain?

I soak quartz crystals i dig up in iron out.Even though you cant see any deposits on them,theyre there.Use the stuff outside,the vapor it releases isnt pleasant,use rubber gloves.
