Was able to get out and enjoy the fine weather today. Hunted the grass line above a large beach for awhile. Along with the junk and clad, I pocketed six rings. Three junk and three silver. Headed from there to an old cellar hole Ive hunted to death. Took my probe and searched in vain for a trash pit...only came up with some broken shards. As a last ditch effort I grabbed my detector and busted into a small but vicious briar patch in search of some relic I may have missed in the past ...and...bingo! Got a faint..brassy signal deep in the mess. Ripped away some briar roots and about four inches down found my treasure. A nice Federal cuff button. Missing the shank, but otherwise in good shape.

Minus the mud..

Another fine addition to my very small "Dug in Michigan" Militaria collection.
