This is the third piece the thieves left when the stole my friends collection that my parents bought. He was hunting in the late 80's and saw the bowl sticking out of the mud on a gravel bar. He looked at it, poked his stick at it, but walked on. All the way up the creek he said it kept bugging him and that "something just wasn't right" about how it looked. As he walked back down the creek to his car, he decided to see what it was. Now you know, too!! If you look carefully at some of the photos you can see all kinds of inscribing on it. I believe there to be the sun in one photo, but that's just my take. Even with damage, it is just a beautiful artifact. Sure wish I could find one of these!!

Like I said on the other forum, very nice Platform Pipe Steve. I'd guess it's a Hopewell type.
