Piru Creek, California

My pops and I are planning to go up to Piru Creek this weekend to do some prospecting. Heard that about 20 miles has been dredged over the last 30 years...is it still worth it to try and find some color up there? I especially wanted to try out some sniping up there. Seen lots of good videos on youtube with some nice chunky gold due to sniping and I really want to give it a try.

This thread is a little old lol. I’m looking to go to Piru Creek/Gold Hill area with somebody that knows the area and current laws. Anybody interested in going? I’d be looking to do some detecting and mini sluicing. I live in the Castaic area and am very close. Info would be appreciated as well!

have def found some specs up there. the question is how much is left
