Pistol grip cap?

Hello all. I found a brass cap that I think is a cap off of a flintlock pistol grip. I have found a lot of revolutionary war era artifacts which is why I'm guessing this is from the same period. I would just like to hear your opinions as to whether I'm barking up the right tree....or could it be something else entirely? Thanks for looking and for any help or ideas you could throw my way.

FLINTLOCK SEA SERVICE PISTOL BUTT CAP. | Spandau Militaria Shop VERY similar. I build flinter and percussion guns and there is a market for origional pieces to make molds from to reproduce them. If ya have any interest in parting with it I would be interested.

I am not to sure, I will ask a couple of the guys who do the molds and repos and see what they say.
