Pitted rock??

Found this pitted rock in a field in the Florida panhandle. Any ideas??

It kind of looks like severely oxidized iron. It might not be a rock at all. I am not sure how you clean it?

Goldie is correct, it like a severely rusted piece of iron, one that most likely has a hole in the center.

Volcanic Rock often used in landscaping, road beds, etc. ?

If it didn't set off the detector, then I would go with Plug and Play on it being volcanic.
