Playground Athletic League Sterling Pin and half dollar dissapointment

Drove a good distance in search of new ground today. Total waste of time as these more urban public areas always seem to be fill dirt and pounded as even the clad was not there. Hunted an old standby and found the 71 Kennedy and the really cool vintage pin.

The Playground Athletic League was an early to mid 1900s orginization that promoted health and fitness through competition and sponsored athletic championships throughout Maryland and possibly elsewhere. Ive found a dozen other pins badges related to this league but this is the first silver one It is an image of David slinging a stone at Goliath

I think we had the same luck today you had, minus the Kennedy and medal. We hit a soccer complex with at least 6 fields and might have found 6 bucks between the two of us.

Thanks. Any time you can find a piece of silver that is not a coin or jewelry then it is a special find. No piece of silver will ever top my Pomander but other than it and my thimbles then this one is right up there
