Please help identify American Silver makers mark

I found a sterling locket today and was trying to identify the makers mark.
It appears to be a M over an A.

Can't seem to find that particular hallmark, but it looks like a keystone shape of some sort, if that helps.

Wait- I just found this too- there was an artist with a makers mark similar that may have been worn away- some of his work does involve birds...
